Who Will Step Up to the Plate to Help Homeowners?

9th Dec, 2009 | No Comment | Posted in business & finance

The economy has really caused a great deal of problems for many- not the least of which, the mortgage industry has been seeing such a dramatic down turn in recent years, causing so many to lose their homes. This has been one of the most difficult areas for people to navigate.

The answers are out there, but so many do not realize this, or they never realize this, and they end up in the worst case scenario of losing their family homes. It’s very difficult to find the answers that you need when you are facing forclosure or similar, and often, people feel that they have nowhere to turn. This is where Kristy Sinsara comes in.

Not knowing where to turn is a big problem for some facing the loss of their homes. The information that they need simply is not as available as it should be, and that information may mean the difference between saving their home and losing it. “The biggest thing that the Consumer Advocacy Group does,” says President Kristy Sinsara, “is educate.”

Quite a number of those who have lost their homes did so because they did not realize that there were options out there, ways to make a change in things and potentially to keep their homes. “The biggest thing that the Consumer Advocacy Group does,” says President Kristy Sinsara, “is educate.”

The Consumer Advocacy Group is not a mortgage modification company, nor do they engage in the sort of tactics that end up costing consumers money rather than helping them. They work tirelessly and passionately to not only educate the people about their rights and their options, but also work towards changing the existing system.

Often, these losses can be avoided in simply knowing the options- and this is a big part of the group’s mission. However, the Consumer Advocacy Group also lobbies actively to see changes in the system that will better benefit the consumers as a whole, rather than the large banks and companies.

A great deal of the work done by Kristy Sinsara and the Consumer Advocacy Group is not for profit. Seeing a large discrepancy in the number of companies working to educate and help the people that have seen hard times and face the loss of their homes, she decided to do something about it. Through free workshops and personal counseling, the group has been able to help many people who did not even realize that there was hope.

One of the programs that the group has, offers free workshops and often personal counseling to people in return for either donations or time spent volunteering for local charitable organizations. In this, there is a sort of complete circle of community giving that is rather inspiring. Not only does this bring a great deal of hope to those that are helped by the Consumer Advocacy Group, but it also brings a better level of hope and togetherness for the community on the whole.
