Photography: An Art Or A Passion

Do you have a hawk eye for perfection? Do you look for something extraordinary even in ordinary things? If yes, then Photography is your passion.

Photography is multi – dimensioned. For some it’s a mere capture of beauty & for some it’s an art to make the world around them beautiful by their skills of photography. It is a unique and creative medium of self-expression. It is an art form requiring aesthetic sense as well as technical expertise. Being a creative medium, photography requires more of inherent talent for success. It requires appreciation of the art & a passion to grow in it.

Compared to other arts, Photography is capable of capturing the flying moment, the fixed and never-changing moment of reality. Photography breaks the pace of the world we live in. It is an art of playing with reality, an art of manipulating & beautifying the nature around us. Photographers decide what to take a photo of, what elements to exclude and what angle to frame the photo. Along with the context that a photograph is received in, photography is definitely a subjective form.

Best Underwater Digital Cameras

Underwater digital cameras are used to capture the beautiful life beneath the ocean. The cameras help scientists in their research on marine biology and wealth. There are many branded companies that offer high- quality digital underwater cameras. A few of the famous companies are Canon, Kodak, Sony, Nikon and Olympus. The best underwater digital cameras are those that can be used for sporting or scientific activities, in all kind of weather and in a variety of locations, wet or wild.

Underwater digital cameras are better than the film underwater cameras, as they do not run out of film. They also have the ability to delete bad shots or change to a lower resolution, in the case of taking extra shots. They are great for wide-angle photography in low- light conditions. Generally, shooting with film cameras produces fuzzy backgrounds and edges, whereas shooting with digital cameras gives sharper photographs.

On using a strobe, most film cameras are limited in providing shutter speeds that range between 1/60th to 1/250th of a second. The best digital underwater cameras do not have mechanical shutters and sync at speeds up to 1/800th of a second. They help to shoot in bright, shallow water, where the strobes would be ineffective. The high shutter speeds are also good for freezing light rays and fast actions.

Improve Your Photos with the Rule of the Third

Well, it is a little complicated. Or it might seem so. We are talking talk about the feared Rule of the Third (also described as the Golden Section). But do not worry. It is not as complicated as many people thinks. If you are able to divide a square in nine equal parts, you will be safe.

Try to turn on your TV. Look for the newsreader at one of the news channels. Is he sitting in the middle of the picture? No, he is placed according to the Rule of the Third in either the left or the right third.

Long before the photography painters found out, that if the main subject was placed either one third or two third from the top and/or from the left, the painting would look more balanced.

To be absolutely correct the right place to put the main subject is not exactly one third (or two third) from the border. There is a complicated mathematically rule that describes the exact place. But it is so close to one third that is fine enough for practically use. So as long as you are not showing your pictures to a mathematician, you will be fine.
