My Samsung LN46B650 HDTV Review
The new Samsung models that have been released with the latest Touch Of Color designs have been dominating the LCD TV markets since their release. It has been touted my many experts and buyers that this High Definition LCD series is the best range of televisions available to buy today.
These days, any TV with a screen size of under 46 inches is likely to fall short (pardon the pun) of the sales for that size screen of yesteryear.
Here’s a quick review from myself, a new buyer of the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch LCD HDTV model.
Just as the name suggests, the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color has a translucent red trim around the edges of the high gloss black finish frame. The design of this particular model is slightly different than the rest of the latest Samsung series (and better, in my personal opinion).
At the bottom edge of the TV frame, there is a slight curve and the TV itself sits on a thin rectangular swivel based stand. In my opinion, the overall design of this TV is so cool! Its looks noticeably modern as soon as anyone lays eyes on it.
Since I bought my Samsung LN46B650 LCD HDTV a few weeks ago, I’ve watched loads of Blu-ray movies on it and I have to say that the picture quality is absolutely mind blowing. The screen itself has been improved since the previous Samsung series to make the whites lighter and the blacks darker, which produces crisp, clear images.
One thing I must say about this model, though, is that it has a high-gloss screen surface that reflects lights in bright conditions. So if you’re planning on buying this TV for a bright room (with a window opposite), you’re probably better going for a Samsung 630 model instead, as they have a matte screen, and light reflection wont be as much of a problem.
The sound system could probably be better too, but then again, its still an upgrade from the previous Samsung models that have been released. And its not as if the sound is number one priority when buying a new TV anyway.
My favourite feature of the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color is that its internet ready when you buy it! All you have to do is plug a cable into the Ethernet port and you are able to browse content from sites such as Flickr, YouTube and Yahoo! How cool is that!
