Finding The Right Mini Pendant Lights

21st Dec, 2009 | No Comment | Posted in education

After all my years of remodeling so many homes, I’ve learned how important the right amount of light is. One of the more popular types of mini pendant lighting I’ve been working with are pendant lights. These lights can really change the feel to a room.

Pendant lights come in many different styles, from contemporary to traditional styles. Of course, the type of lighting fixture you choose is just a matter of preference.

If your house is modern, you’ll probably end up with a beautiful stainless steel or brass finished pendant. I’ve seen some incredible contemporary designs, specifically the way the glass or steel is cut.

If you’re looking for a more traditional feel, then you’ll probably be interested in Tiffany-style pendant lights. This style is made with stained glass and is usually extremely decorative. The pop of color from Tiffany lights can really make a difference in the style of the room they’re placed in.

Pendant lights can be placed in a wide-variety of places throughout the home. They can also add a beautiful touch outside the home at your front door. I’ll discuss some common places to install these lights throughout this article.

Most people purchasing pendant lights are looking to add these lights to their kitchen. It really adds a nice touch to a kitchen. They’re commonly installed over a table or over counter tops. If you’re looking to hang them over a counter top, check out island style pendants. They’re more affordable than purchasing three or four different pendants, since they’re all hanging on one island.

If you’re a big gaming person and you happen to have a billiards table, then a pendant light is a must. You can hang the lights just over the table to give some extra light and a great look.

When having these lights installed, make sure they’re hanging high enough. It’s not fun having to re-do them once they’re in, so please make sure they’re at least 30′ to 40′ from the surface.
