Part of being involved in the global business community is knowing the cultures, histories and even some languages of other countries. When you come to Boston, you’ll find that slang is spoken fairly casually, and as such you’ll have to learn it. Unfortunately this is not something that’s spoken or taught often in English Schools so it’s something you’ll have to absorb on your own. Don’t give up — I know it can be tough to learn both formal and casual language. So long as you’re attempting to involve yourself in your community you’ll be fine; it will come naturally. Don’t give up or else you’ll find yourself wishing you weren’t here!
While learning a new language can be a daunting task, it can be made easier by traveling to a place where the language is spoken fluently. Traveling to Boston to learn English will not only allow you to submerse yourself in the language, but in the American culture as well. While you are in Boston for your education, you will also have the opportunity to experience the city itself, both through field trips hosted by your school and on your own.
